Struggle is simply difficulty in achieving something. We could be struggling to make money, find work

be happy, or leading a more active lifestyle. There are thousands of struggles that we can think of which

we come across on a daily basis.

Now if a struggling period is going on in your life you practically cannot change it within days. It’s a long

procedure for some unknown reason. That’s when the term came about saying “The struggle is real.”

Yes. I mean really, it’s not a state of mind, a way of being or something that which is in your control, not

at least in your immediate control.

So you can either do nothing about it and go about experiencing it in its full glory or, you can do some amazing practical things which can totally change your outlook towards it and more importantly bring a great change in your life.

Before I tell you how to deal with your daily struggles you must decide something immediately, you must decide

to start seeing your struggle for what it really is, “it’s an opportunity for growth.

I am not preaching you some cliched wisdom here.

Only when I saw that my life was going nowhere, I am broke and cannot support my family or grow my

studio in any way to fulfill my dreams, I was so agitated and feeling so hopeless and stuck, that because

of that insane amount of suffocation, I decided to take immediate massive action to break free of that

feeling, commit to a hard routine, and not stop until and at least I have everything on track.

By on track I mean, at least in some motion.

Not Epitome of success but in a situation where I have the possibility of success every day.

It’s a big thing.

Let’s go ahead now and explore the 3 ways to deal with all your struggles in an effective productive way.

1. Learn to see the beauty of your struggles, know why it is there and what is the lesson?

I have been growing philosophically consistently for the past few years. The kind of understanding that has

come to me is phenomenal, it’s so great that it enables me to make better decisions in every scenario and

take action continuously.

First, your struggle has a purpose. The reason it is there is that something right now is demanding a lot

from you to be achieved. There 2 scenarios in this particular instance.

  1. Either you are struggling with something that you don’t care about at all or it’s a great compulsion essential for survival.
  2. Or it’s something you deeply care about and you are putting in a lot of work to achieve it but it’s not yielding desired results. Which in turn is affecting your other areas in life.

Now I have been through both. The first one is a little tricky and requires a strong philosophical approach.

The other not as difficult as you are doing something you love but the consistent struggle can lead you to feeling hopeless.

However, the solution to both of them is similar. The answer is in the title of this point.

The thing you do is:

  1. If you have decided to do something and doing it every single day is a struggle or even starting it is
  2. a struggle because it’s too much work, very little time to relax and have fun and also because you
  3. cannot indulge in things which you normally enjoy doing, then the only way to keep going is to
  4. very clearly visualize “The benefits of this path.”

  1. Every time you want to give up or give in to your desires of inactivity, addiction, or indulgence.
  2. Just think about how this “each second of suffering is making you stronger and better.”
  3. How it’s taking you one step closer every moment to achieving your dream life.

  1. Simply breath into that difficulty, visualize yourself smiling, sitting in a meditative stance.  Focused,
  2. a little irritated inside, irritation of old desires but whatever you are right now at this very moment
  3. is better than what you were and if you continue you will reap the rewards of your effort eventually.

I mean, if you decide to work out and get on a diet plan to get fit and in shape, once in a while, junk food attracts you beyond belief, any old substance addiction throbbing from inside for consumption. Just breath deeply and visualize everything positive about your current life, consciously know that this will lead to something beautiful.

It’s the same with any other goal. Just visualize all the benefits.

  1. Try to understand the reason behind your struggle. Do not play a blame game. Start with you and your
  2. goals. Whatever is in your control is the only reason which is worthwhile to consider. Because even if
  3. other reasons are genuine they are not in your control. So always understand the “Why?” for you first.

  1. Human life is for learning, human life is for growth. It’s because we have the ability to think and make
  2. decisions, anything that happens in our lives always holds some meaning. Nothing we experience is meaningless. So always actively seek out the lesson.

  1. If the lesson isn’t productive, emotionally beneficial, and growth-oriented, then you have come to the
  2. wrong conclusion. a Very simple measure of a true lesson, right? If you successfully understand what life
  3. is trying to teach you at this point, the lesson will disappear and your struggle will ease down a bit.

It could be an emotional lesson, a lesson to let go of things that do not serve your purpose. It could be a physical lesson trying to tell you, your health requires attention and care. It could be a financial lesson, telling you to think more soundly about your income or expenses. Also, it could be a moral lesson teaching you about being a more robust human.

I mean these are literally small examples, your lesson could be much more profound than this. Don’t get frustrated with struggle, find your lesson and consider this as a brand new opportunity for growth.

2. Take it easy and take charge

Don’t like something about your life, try to change it. Been struggling with something for a long time, get mad at it and try to get out of it ASAP. Do not indulge in a victim mindset. For example, your finances have been bad from a long long time, first take time to pause and reflect, because in the hurry of routine we often don’t think about the most obvious of solutions. Or don’t find time to check if our way is any beneficial at all.

On the other hand too long of a break can make you so inactive even mentally that you won’t just be able to take any action at all. Your struggle is due to your impatient hurries or extremely long inactive pauses. Balance is always the key.

So think of changing your job, maybe think of taking one more job or maybe think of starting something which will earn you a side income, while you do what you love. Or maybe work your butt off until you finally arrive at a stable point from where you can afford the ability to indulge in whatever you like.

This will take a tremendous amount of willpower, it will be a magnificent struggle.  You will hate every new morning of work but remember it’s leading you to somewhere beautiful. Hold on, don’t get frustrated. Take it easy. Just keep doing, keep going every day, don’t think about the hardship, think about the reward, and hold that image of the desired reward every day in your head. You will never notice your struggle that way.

I remember my industrial training which was for 6 months, I hated every moment of it. Still, I did these 3 things there:

  1.  Used my time productively by learning as much as possible as I anyhow have to be there no matter what for 18 hours. The time investment is a compulsion then why not just do it attentively and make the most of my time there. Because no learning goes to waste.
  2.  It was so hard for me to be there as I hate routines, I started actively seeking the good in that place and situation. I made some great friends at least during the training period, I was grateful to my mentor there because he made sure I learned as much as possible while having fun. Lastly, all this was a completely new way of life, new people, new things, which I was sure I will never see again and some new types of socializing events, I immersed myself in it completely.I mean I tried to participate and have fun as much as possible.
  3. I took it as a challenge and declared to my struggles, “let’s see who is stronger?” Your state of mind is your Way of life, so it’s better to have a strong self-chatter than a weak victimized one.

Don’t get frustrated with anything, it’s anyhow going to be there, why waste time reacting to it? Why not move on with life and try to make something of it. Always try new ways of doing something to make progress and never feel disappointed if you fail sometimes. Yes! Of course, you can feel a little disappointed at that very instance if you want, we are humans we feel stuff, but do not let that get to your head. Move on and take charge again.

3. Lead a life of meaning

We humans cannot do anything until we see meaning in it. Until we see a definite possible reason and reward in an action. We cannot just keep doing things for the sake of doing them. If you have never given a thought to this, then I highly encourage you to do so.

Question yourself in a certain manner.

  • Why do you want to do something?
  • Why do you have that goal?
  • Why are you feeling distressed?
  • Why are you always struggling with action?
  • What do you want to do in life?

You will not find answers to these questions immediately but always think about them some or another time. Simply thinking about their answers will give you the courage to handle all your daily struggles more powerfully.

It’s because now you are struggling for a reason, a meaningful reason. You are ready to struggle through life until you find the answer to “What is the meaning of life?” you are willing to take on anything because now you are determined to survive anything that comes your way until your discovery.

Little trivial or major important problems in life will not shatter you as much from then on. Yes definitely you will feel certain repercussions because of it which is fairly natural but you will learn to accept it smoothly, without any strong resistance, acceptance gives you a lot of strength to handle anything.

Every day is a quest, every day is an adventure. Every day you face the possibility of finding a hint to that important answer. You look at life from a researcher’s perspective rather than a subject’s perspective. You are always looking for the answer and you understand with each experiment you are nearing a discovery of a lifetime.

You can do a few things:

  1. Read new books every month. Try non-fiction mostly. Yes, sometimes fiction has a lot of wisdom too but try reading about the world through the glasses of reality. Which all genre of books you haven’t read yet? Philosophy?Spirituality? Biography? Nature?
  2. Participate in new activities.
  3. Sit quietly, breathe deeply and admire nature. Try to feel the breeze, hear the leaves and experience the temperature.

Conclusion

Struggles are a part of life, you cannot escape them, stop running now and your school will get over soon. Let them inspire you to live a more fulfilled and meaningful life rather than being scared of all the work and danger you have to face in life.

Life is very much fun and beautiful you know?

Participate actively, yes, some days you will feel terrible and so say to yourself it’s alright. There will come a time when I will know the meaning of it all. Until then let’s do my duty.
