As Sadhguru once said about his book Death, that it is for everyone who will die, I would say Karma is for everyone who will live.
When I first read this book, I merely read words. I almost forgot what I had read because I was in a hurry with life. The second time, however, each word from the book dawned on me like a revelation.
Its impact profound, and the light it shone illumined the way of my actions like never before.
It’s a truly transformative book that can help you take control of your destiny.
The book is divided into 3 parts. The first dispels common myths surrounding karma, the second delves deeper into its various dimensions, and the third addresses questions on karma from seekers.
Beyond the knowledge it imparts at the end of each chapter, Sadhguru gives us simple yet transformative sadhanas (practices/means) that can help us inculcate these teachings into our way of life and live more consciously.
As Sadhguru explains in the book, these practices don’t require spiritual initiation. That said, some foundational spiritual knowledge will help one fully appreciate the depth and value of the content in this book.
Things like why you would want to be free of karmic entanglement. Though worry not, the book does expound on everything necessary for a person to grasp the true nature of how karma functions.
To arrive at the level of understanding this book offers on your own, one might otherwise need to read hundreds of Vedic texts and assimilate years of lived experience.
Karma can undoubtedly teach you how to live, and live so that your past doesn’t define your future, and show you how your present can transform your life into something meaningful.
However, please bear in mind that this is a spiritual book and not a quick fix for lifetimes of problems. It requires the reader to be a believer on some level—or, at the very least, open-minded enough to entertain a thought without accepting it, as Aristotle famously observed.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s for everyone who wants to live consciously and free from the ignorance of the karmic veil.
